"MAGIC squares" by YVONNE HASAN
September 17, 2024 | Cosmina Marcela OLTEAN ArtPageAn exhibition of artworks by the artist Yvonne Hasan (1925 – 2016) will open on the evening of September 19, in the Creart space at Art Safari - art fair in Bucharest (RO).
The exhibition "Yvonne Hasan: Careuri Magice" ("MAGIC SQUARES") is dedicated to artist Yvonne Hasan (1925-2016), one of the important figures of Romanian art. Emphasizing the dialogue of her oeuvre with the art of Paul Klee, the exhibition presents the artist’s unique universe, which includes textiles, gouaches, drawings, paintings and film, including in the selection some artworks previously unknown to the public.
Yvonne Hasan was an art historian and founder of the Union of Visual Artists. Throughout his life, he painted and was a teacher at the Institute of Fine Arts "Nicolae Grigorescu" in Bucharest, published the volume "Paul Klee and modern art", had eight personal exhibitions and participated in numerous group exhibitions. In 2019, the National Museum of Contemporary Art organized an exhibition of her works.
The exhibition takes place with the support of CREART Bucharest. Project developed by Sector 1 Gallery in collaboration with Alexandru Solomon.
